10月30日 Stewardship of LifeJesus knew exactly how He would die and even the day and the hour. Thank goodness, you and I don't have those details but we do know that life is fragile. I was told of a man who went to the ER last week and they told him he had ten minutes to live[aneurysm]. Sure enough, he passed away in a few minutes. I have thought about that several times since: what would I do if the doctor's told me that I had 10 minutes left on this earth. My brother in law [age 73] went in last Monday for a routine knee replacement. Complications set in after the surgery and it has been down hill since. For the past 48 hours, he has been in ICU fighting for his life. As I lay in bed last night, thinking about these two men and about my own mortality [of the body I live in at present], I was reminded that my time here on earth is short no matter how you look at it. When we think of stewardship, we Baptist generally think about money but stewardship involves more than money. I do admit that money is a test and if you don't past the money test, you can forget the rest but time is more precious to me than money. If you gave me a choice today between one million dollars and another year with my family; I'd probably take the year. June might want me to take the money [just kidding]. I don't have that much time left and it is going fast; I want to make the best of my days by doing something that is significant. I want every day to count. There is still a lot that I have not done. I want to write a book; I want to go to one NASCAR race, one Kentucky Derby, one world series game...Actually I would like to see the democrats voted out of DC and the gospel shared with the nations [bible printed in every language]. I would love to see the day that the UNBORN have a right to life. That their constitutional rights be restored. Sometimes I thing it would be great to ABORT all those who believe in abortion. I'd sure like to abort their vote and their voice. I hear things that break my heart like a retired SB preacher who voted for Obama [abortion on demand] due to the influence of his son. I have to be honest folks: how can any believer vote for abortion on demand! How will they justify that on the day of judgment? Something is drastically wrong when CNN has more influence over your vote than the bible. I rambling, forgive me! Make every day count folks. Don't waste your time or your sorrows. Be a good stewardship of all that the LORD has given you.
PS...I have to take June's bulldog to surgery this am, then off to the synagogue as Alton would say to fry fish for our Senior Adults. As soon as that is accomplished, we will reload for 5th Quarter. We have a work day at the BOYS RANCH in the morning and TRUNK-A-TREAT tomorrow night. Revival beginning Sunday night: Lance Breedlove will be with us Monday night and Dr. T. Ray Keenum on Wednesday. I'm going to Atlanta on Tuesday to see Steve but I hope to get back for the service. The Revival is YOUTH Led. We had two POF's last week in the YOUTH service and one Monday night on visitation. PTL, Joe David will get to baptize three more, we hope! 引用通告此日志的引用通告 URL 是: http://brojacksblog.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!6748BF029622B8C1!284.trak 引用此项的网络日志
